840 Words. 700 Needed

Jiro sat on top of the Hokage monument pondering the last week’s intense Fuuton training and wondered whether the results were worth it. Three more Jutsu’s down but could the time have been better spent he wondered

The first two days he spent developing a technique based on Repposhou. At times the technique had proved useful for knocking back his opponent if momentarily but it had always been a substantial effort if not completely impossible to capitalise on this the gust knocking them out of reach. What he wouldn’t do for a lighter more wide spread burst designed to knock them off balance or slip if only momentarily leaving them vulnerable to a follow up attack rather then sending them sprawling beyond his reach. Ashikubi no Pusshu was his interpretation not an offensive technique as such but rather one of disruption designed to hinder an opponent. It took sometime to evolve the original technique making it less powerful yet at the same time deadly in its own way. The chakra required was considerably less but the control all the greater to guide its direction. After several tests on clones it prove only partially successful when strike an opponents front and so a second unnoticeable gust was added to redirect the initial burst to strike an opponents side. Creating a new jutsu is never easy and it hadn’t been for Jiro, it had taken the entire first day to get to grips with the chakra control involved however he finally managed to get it down by the end of the second

Then he had the fortune to meet an old sparing partner and after a quick spar Jiro had to admit he had come along way possessing a number of new and dangerous techniques, his opponent thought the same and in a rare moment for Nin especially for Jiro they traded one Jutsu for another. He wasn’t entirely sure what brought this on but he had feeling he wouldn’t regret it. In exchange for Misu Bunshin Jiro ask to be trained in Bouseki Kaze an odd little move that had cause Jiro considerable problems initially. It turned out everything was in the preparation that one initiated it was remarkably simple to do. He wasn’t wrong the hand seals while common place where slightly askew and chakra lattice one need to mould in ones arms was surprisingly complex. The grabbing and twisting was second nature to the Kenjutsu expert and took him almost no time to perfect. Despite the complications Jiro took to the technique as he did all close quarters techniques it wasn’t long before he was pulling it off with efficiency on some water clones he had created. It struck him he would need to practise it often to reduce the hand seals he would need to make it truly effective.

The last technique he had found in a mould old tomb about air manipulation. Well it wasn’t a technique as such according to book as an exercise for high level chakra control. However as Jiro read on he became enthralled as the potential opportunities the techniques opened up were too good to pass up. He was sure it wouldn’t be too problematic after all he had mastered water walking in under a day surely this would be all the easier. How wrong he had been about Kaze Ba-suto, Water walking was an exercise for toddlers when compare to the manipulation required for this technique. The very fact all the Chakra need to moulded in the bottom of ones feet in a manner to produce air bubbles was itself a considerable feat. Hand seals helped on so much with the moulding only adding to Jiro’s problems. Jiro tried all day and the next with success, simply put despite all his efforts the bubbles of air he produced where never large or control enough to achieve what the technique talked about. For the first time in an age he considered that perhaps the technique wasn’t possible on theoretically so. Jiro is many things, a Nin, a killer, a servant of an evil God but a quitter he is not, and he has never walked the easy path and wasn’t going to now. It took 2 more days from dawn till past dusk to eventually perform the technique to an acceptable standard ironically once his control we good enough the rest fell into place, the charka need was relatively small given the complexity and difficulty of the technique.

Smiling to himself he didn’t to wait to answer whether it was worth it. Of course it was and without hesitation he leapt after the Mountain and started to free fall wind screaming past him as hurtled to ground as he flipped through the hand seals and focused the chakra in his feet suddenly he was propelled upwards once more. Well it wasn’t true flight or levitation, he kind of doubted he would ever have the control for either but it was brilliant all the same. Much like his God some things one couldn’t quantify, they just were and the feeling of air brushing past was one of them
