Tengan Clan (Ready)

NOTE: This clan's KKG is based off of the ability of Jedi to use the Force in the Star Wars series. Credit to the idea and concept goes fully to the makers of Star Wars.

Clan Name: Tengan [literally means "clairvoyant"]

Kekkei Genkai:
- Life Force/LF
The Tengan clan’s unique ability is not really a Kekkei Genkai, however they are the only ones who have managed to achieve said ability, and as such this is considered their Kekkei Genkai. Upon birth, each Tengan is taken away from the life of the outside world and taken to a secret lair whose location is known only to the Tengan Clan’s Heads. There, the young Tengan are trained to enhance their mental prowess through various mental training sessions. These training sessions allow the Tengan to become attuned with the natural energy of the universe, the energy that binds every living thing together, which the Tengan call “Life Force” or “LF” for short. The training sessions allow the Tengan to tap into this energy and use it to perform acts of great skill and agility as well as control and shape the world around them.

- Abilities of LF
The clan member’s mastery of using LF can determine the strength of his techniques. LF can be used to perform a variety of mentally-based and will-power techniques, such as telepathy, telekinesis, and enhanced physical and metaphysical perception. The LF could also be used to bend the will of the weak-minded and guide an adept’s body. Those Tengan who have trained long to control LF can even predict things before they happen, similar to how the Sharingan predicts movements. These Tengan can therefore cease reacting to their surroundings and react to counter these visions. Tengan can also use LF to put victims into a trance of sorts, with the Tengan’s mastery of LF usage determining the strength of the trance.

- Effects on the Body
Tengan, because of the innumerable mind trainings they have gone through, are all calm-minded and cool-headed people. They are very difficult to trick owning to their logical and sensible minds. The Tengan’s awareness of the LF also makes them great fighters. Usage of LF techniques does not require the usage of chakra from the clan member like normal jutsu. As such, the Tengan need not worry about loss of chakra when using LF techniques. However, over-usage of LF techniques will result in unconsciousness and possible brain damage.

Element: N/A
Description: Using their telepathic abilities, Tengan can transmit thoughts into other people’s minds, even words that they think. This becomes an invaluable asset when conveying secrets from one another, for Tengan have the choice of whether to broadcast said thoughts or direct it to one particular person, which means that they can keep their thoughts secret if they wish it. The range is approximately a circular area of radius 10 meters. All it requires is that the Tengan know the location of the person they are targeting.

Description: When a Tengan looks into the eyes of another person, he can tell whether the targeted person is lying or not, simply by reading his mind. This requires eye contact and will not work if the clan member and his victim are not sharing eye contact. This works best at close range since it is easier to ensure eye contact at close range, though it can be done over a large distance.

Description: A Tengan can use his connection with LF to move objects without touching them using his mind. Movements include such as pushing objects, lifting them into the air, pulling them closer to the the clan member, or holding them in place. Hand movements are necessary for moving objects larger than the Tengan himself, however objects which are smaller than the Tengan can be moved without hand movements, though they must be in the clan member’s line of sight for this to happen. A Tengan can move practically any object, however the larger the object, the more concentration it requires, so some objects are beyond a human’s capacity to move (e.g a Tengan might be able to move an entire building, but moving a mountain would be beyond his abilities). Normally, D-Rank can move objects weighing at 20 kg max, C-Rank can move objects weighing at 50kg max, B-Rank can move objects weighing at 80kg max, A-Rank can move objects weighing at 100kg max, and S-Rank can move objects weighing at 120kg max. Any attempt to move objects beyond their capacity will result in black-outs for at least 1 day (these are RL days, not RP days).

Description: A Tengan will place his hand onto another creature’s forehead and will concentrate hard. Using his powers and his connection with the LF, the Tengan will cause the target’s brain activity to slow down, placing them in a trance. Extremely powerful Tengan can even cause their victims to fall asleep with this.

Name: Memory Prodding
Rank: C
Type: KKG
Element: N/A
Description: A technique requiring the Tengan to touch the target’s head with his fingers. The Tengan will then concentrate and will begin scanning through the target’s mind, going over his memory. This technique can be used to view memories, extract them, repair them, even erase them completely. Clan members can only erase one memory at a time, meaning they cannot make a person lose all his memories at once. Memories that have been erased are not completely lost; rather a small fragment of them remains in side the victim’s mind, which a highly-skilled Tengan can repair. Erased memories cannot be viewed by the Time Regression Jutsu since only a small fragment of that memory remains.

Description: With the aid of his telepathic abilities, a Tengan will move is hand in front of the target’s eyes and will say a statement which orders the target to give a piece of information. Eye contact for this is ESSENTIAL, and will only work if eye contact is held for 1 post after saying the required statement. The target’s mind will then automatically form the words that will reveal whatever information that he has that the Tengan needs. The target himself will not know that he is being forced to do so, and will think that he is doing it voluntarily. Once the target has submitted to the Tengan’s will, they will give truthfully answer any question that they are asked. Genjutsu users can resist this, however if the Tengan is higher in rank than the target than he will always win. This move is often used when physical contact with the target is difficult and is primarily used as an interrogation tool.

Element: N/A
Description: This allows a Tengan to close off his mind to other people. This is useful when trying to keep memories secret, for the Time Regression Jutsu and other mind scanning techniques, even clan ones, will not be able to view any memories. This can last for as long as the Tengan wills. If any ninja attempts to read a Tengan's thoughts using another mind technique (the Yamanaka clan for instance), the two minds will begin to struggle for dominance, with the stronger mind (i.e the higher ranking mind) coming out victorious. This will result in the Tengan's Mind Barrier shattering to the invader's will, leaving his thoughts exposed.

Description: A move used for killing more than anything, this will rely on the Tengan utilizing his connection with the LF to form a barrier around the target’s throat and throttle them. The Tengan will first point their arm at the target. He will then use his telekinetic powers to life the target into the air, raising his arm upwards as he does so. If the target is physically or mentally strong enough, he can break the hold of the Tengan before he initiates the next step. 1 post after the Tengan lifts the target into the air, the Tengan will form a grabbing shape with his hand, which will cause an invisible barrier of LF to form around the target’s throat. The Tengan will then slowly form his hand into a fist, which will cause the invisible barrier around the target’s neck constrict slowly, suffocating them. Once the Tengan has formed a complete fist, the target’s windpipe will be crushed, though if he prolongs it the target may die from suffocation before then. This choking can also be done directly without lifting the target into the air. This move can also be used as a means of destroying the target’s resolve, as the fear of being choked over and over again will weaken their confidence.

History:
The Tengan began years before the making of the 5 Great Ninja Nations, indeed it was a few years after the Rikudo Sage began revealing the Way of the Ninja. At that time there was a man named Takumi who was eager to get powerful and become the most powerful man in the world, strong enough to defeat the Riuko Sage. Seeing that ninja were quickly becoming the strongest in the world, Takumi decided to become one himself. He began working hard to become a ninja, his goal keeping his desire fueled at all times. To his dismay, he was not able to become a ninja, and in a rage of fury left his village and his family to search for another source of power.

While traveling the world, he ran into a man who told him about a great energy that connected every living thing in the world together. At first, Takumi was skeptic about this energy, and merely pushed it to the back of his mind. One night however, he spotted the same man from before outside in the middle of the night. The man appeared to be in some sort of meditative trance. Takumi, curious, watched the man as he raised his arm and pointed his hand at a nearby boulder. To Takumi’s utter astonishment, the boulder lifted into the air and hovered above the ground. The man then lowered his arm and the boulder returned to its spot. Shocked by what he had seen, Takumi had revealed himself and questioned the man on how he had lifted the boulder into the air without touching it. The man answered that he had used the same energy he had told Takumi about earlier to lift the boulder into the air. This amazed Takumi even more, and he now believed the man’s words. He asked the man to teach him how to control the energy he spoke of. The man told him that he himself was still learning, but he would happily take him to his teacher to train him. Takumi, excited at the prospect, agreed to this offer.

Together, Takumi and his new friend Yami set out to the location of Yami’s teacher. After many days of travel, they finally reached a valley hidden so well within a mountain range that Takumi was surprised that Yami could even navigate their way through it to their destination. And reach their destination they did: a large temple-like building of stone, where lived Yami’s teacher, Master Tengan. Tengan warmly welcomed Takumi and agreed to teach him how to control the energy that Yami had spoken of, though Tengan himself called it the Life Force , or LF for short. They then began their training. Takumi proved to b a quick study and learned whatever he was taught at a great pace, surpassing even Yami, who had an immense head-start over Takumi. As it happened, Takumi ended up becoming the stronger of the two, and he was constantly being praised by Tengan about his skills. This drove Yami into a jealous rage, and one day, when his jealousy had reached its peak, he murdered his master Tengan in his sleep. He then moved on to Takumi, but the latter was awake and ready to fight. After a long battle, Takumi came out on top and defeated his former friend with the killing blow.

Takumi, now left as the only one with the secret of controlling LF, returned to his home and wife, where he told her of his travels. Takumi, not wanting the secret of using LF to be forgotten, began teaching his children and his wife how to use it. He changed his surname to Tengan in honor of his deceased teacher. Once his children had grown and married, they past on what they had learnt to their children, and by the time the 5 Great Ninja Nations had been established, the Tengan clan had already formed and grown. Nowadays, the Tengan clan resides on the outskirts of Sunagakure, most of them living their lives as ordinary humans, while the minority became ninja. Very few Tengan are now alive that cannot use LF techniques, as every child is catered off to the clan’s Secret Training Grounds at birth.

The ability of telekinesis and telepathy have been used in clan's like the Digoshi, but considering it is connected to a different aspect than that clan I will allow it.

Any Genjutsu cast on a Tengan that is above their rank will have its effect hampered slightly due to the Tengan knowing that he is trapped in a Genjutsu. The Tengan’s awareness of the LF also makes them great fighters. Usage of LF techniques does not require the usage of chakra from the clan member like normal jutsu. As such, the Tengan need not worry about loss of chakra when using LF techniques. However, over-usage of LF techniques will result in unconsciousness and possible brain damage.

I am quite scepticle on this aspect, with the whole immunity to genjutsu. Resistance is fine, but immunity is not. Especially if there is a S-ranked Tengan clan member, as no genjutsu would effect them. For the higher ranks i suggest making it resistant not completely immuned. E.g Clan members are immuned B-rank and below, but the higher techs, either the duration of the technique is halfed, or the power etc. I am just not quite sure on the the complete immunity.

With this ability i suggest making it C-S rank, or D-S rank. And having either a weight or size limit on each rank that the user can lift, push, pull etc or it could easily be overpowered.

This could easily be Godmodded. There has to be a way for the user to not be attracted into the technique, such as you and the user have to make eye contact for a certain amount of time. Just a way for it to not be a 'sure-hit'.

Seeing as there are a larger amoutn of clan specialising in the mind this will have to be elaborated. How would the yamanaka and such fair against this technique, as they have mind infultrating ability, made to combat this?

This seems to be another 'sure-hit' technique, and a problem when bringing over star wars ideas onto a naruto clan idea ^^. It must have a way to not be initiated into the attack, as it can become instant death.

Unapproved. The genjutsu resistance is still way too powerful and needs to be downgraded. Immunity to everything but S Rank is still too extreme. Generally the most you might be allowed is a immunity to one rank below your level (to max of C Rank) plus a downgrading of the difficulty of higher ranks. Please bear in mind that gen is another spec like any other and its not a world away from claiming immunity to all A Rank or lower Ninjutsu. That would never be allowed and so this too needs editing.

So an S rank Ninja is immune to E,D,C Genjutsus, high resistance to B, a good resistance to A, and a slight "sixth sense" for S rank Genjutsu?

Ehh? No, they just realize their in a Genjutsu faster, no immunity whatsoever. You throw a dancing dinosaur wearing a top hat in front of them and they'll realise that it's a Genjusu before other ninja do. This makes the duration and effects halved, get it?

Not really. Even if you know you're in a genjutsu, that doesn't mean it doesn't last as long. I mean, I could understand this giving you a greater ability to Kai. But Look at kakashi and tsukoyomi.

Hmm, what if I made it so that the Genjutsu dispelling Difficulty was lowered by 1 rank for their rank and below, if that's allowed that is?

Well... It still doesn't make sense. Why would they be able to dispell a rank easier just because they can recognize they're in a genjutsu?
