Wet. That’s what it was, a wet day. Obviously, the sky was covered with dark, stormy clouds, and even more obviously, it was raining. Not your average, summer rain. This was like someone had overturned a swimming pool in the sky and made it pass through a sieve. The ground was muddy, visibility was poor, and every few seconds there was a flash of bright lightning, followed by a loud sound that sounded like a hundred fat men burping at once. Thunder, of course. Most people would have stayed inside on a day like this. Kazuto, however, was not like most people. He had a jutsu to train, and he wasn’t going to let a little water keep him from doing it. Kazuto stopped as he reached the Training Grounds. He was pleased to see that he was the only one there, that was good. If anyone saw him out here in the rain, it would lead to a long and tiresome lecture on how he would get sick if he stayed out in the rain. But Kazuto was a Medical Ninja, a little cold wasn’t a problem to him. Stretching a little, Kazuto took of his glasses and put them in his pocket. What with the rain pouring down on him, his glasses would be nothing but a nuisance. Kazuto glanced around, looking for something to practice on. He spotted a boulder, perfect for what he had in mind. Standing in front of it, he quickly formed a few handsigns, then slammed his palm against the muddy ground and sent a burst of chakra into the ground. The earth around the boulder rose up and covered it completely. Kazuto straightened up, pleased at the result, and he stepped back and began testing to check its maximum range. He discovered that it was 6 metres. Kazuto grinned, pleased. He noted the raindrops around him beginning to lessen, and glanced up. The clouds had parted slightly, and a ray of sunlight could be seen. Kazuto looked down and sneezed. Great, he had caught a cold. Holding a napkin to his running nose, he hurried home.
