Aria Marie Ongaku Empty
PostSubject: Aria Marie Ongaku   Aria Marie Ongaku EmptyMon Jul 06, 2009 4:37 am

Character Profile:

Name: Aria Marie Ongaku

Age: 13

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Aria is a brunette with natural red highlights, her hair ranging from a caramel color to a bronze, depending on the lighting or season. Her eye color is quite unique, sometimes looking like that of sunflowers, or just a radiant light green. She has a petite figure, fair skin, and what most would call a doll face. Although she doesn’t appear muscular, she’s quite strong for her size and age, due to her way of living. Only stretching a few inches over five feet, she is quite small.

She doesn't exactly care for the kunoichi look, wearing normal everyday attire, with her treasured ocarina at her hip, in its separate holster next to her pouch of chosen weapons, a sand colored backpack found hanging from her shoulders, containing useful items for survival. Her village headband can be found wrapped around her left upper arm, not far off from the shoulder. Aria can be found in a plain tank top, jeans, and sometimes a hoodie when the temperature drops at night. Her formal attire, a rare sight, consists of silk robes, a kimono, or an appealing blouse with a skirt. Occasionally, she has an elegant custom scarf wrapped around her neck, covering her face from inhaling sand or dust. Always equipped is a locket necklace given to her by her brother, that she believes good luck and keeps in memory of her beloved elder sibling when he is away on missions, or when she is away from home. On her feet are her stylish, yet basic ninja sandals, durable for running, working on rough turf, and combat.

Personality:

Aria has a shy disposition, making her quite reserved and not exactly talkative, but that doesn't mean she can't be outgoing. She is very friendly and compassionate, also making her selfless towards others. Being an all around loving person, she gives help and care when needed, and even when it’s not. With that said, she puts others before herself, which can be good and bad at times. She is very disciplined, equally as curious, and considered wise for her age. Aria tends to always thinks things through, resulting in stress and worry over even the simplest of things. This also makes her quite the problem solver, as well as a descent decision maker. She also tends to take control in abrupt situations, doing nothing but acting in a manner to solve a problem and sometimes ordering those around her to help, though she may not notice it. Her temperament is commonly calm, but if provoked enough, she can have a dangerous temper. When Aria becomes mad enough, she has no problem saying what is on her mind at that very moment. Even so, her usual tranquil personality makes her quite the peaceful individual.

It's honestly difficult to hate Aria, she is easy to get along with. Even when she's treated with disrespect, she remains gentle and kind. She believes in second chances, and that people are capable of change. This sometimes makes her easy to take advantage of, as well as quite the push over. Despite her simple personality, she's a very complex person, and a bit difficult to understand. She enjoys learning, whether it be studying her surroundings, techniques, or people. Aria loves music, which doesn't entirely have to do with her clan, but an interest she's had all her life. Accompanied by her love for musical arts, is her love for art itself. In her free time, she can be found practicing playing her ocarina, or with a sketch book and pencil in hand. Her interests make her very creative, as well as imaginative. She is easily inspired, and easy to please.

Clan Information

Name: Ongaku

Origin: Otogakure no Sato

Kekkei Genkai: Chougen

Description:

Those born into Ongaku clan carry a bloodline known as Chougen, meaning "Tuning". This Kekkei Genkai strangely enough, has to do with hearing and the brains translation of sound waves. The bloodline is quite simple, with branching abilities. Chougen is not a Kekkei Genkai that requires activation, for it is active from the date of birth, to the day of death. This odd bloodline allows its beholders to identify a song or tune, and play it by ear on an instrument of their own, as if the wielder read them off a sheet of music or had known the music their whole life. Along with their advanced hearing is the unexplained immunity to sounds techniques of any kind, excluding those of solid force. This prevents Genjutsu focused around the hearing sense from taking any effect of anyone of this bloodline, as well as other sound techniques used against them. However, this is not all those with Chougen can do.

Over time, and advancing of their abilities, those of the Ongaku clan have taken their gift, and molded it into an instrument itself. As more and more descendants of the clan started taking part in defending their villages as dedicated ninja, they began to combine their bloodline with jutsu, creating even stronger techniques. With new use of their abilities, came recognition of the the purpose of their strange bloodline. The clan immediately started exploring further possibilities, and passing on the information and newfound techniques through generations. The types of techniques vary, but all focus around the sound of music.

History:

The Ongaku clan originated in Otogakure no Sato, and started with a band of musicians and childhood friends joined by their love for music. Legend has it, this band wasn't ordinary by any means, and their musical abilities were simply amazing. Any member of the band could play any song after hearing it just once, so there was no need for practice. It wasn't long before their performances attracted attention from all over the country, bringing them fame and fortune. As their popularity grew along with their abilities, even the members of the band began to notice their unusual talent, and the fact that music was much more to them than their audience. Torn apart by inner conflict among the band, they spread out within Otogakure no Sato and began living more comfortable and normal lives. However, music never left them, ever. They all continued playing their instruments in the company of their own home, and slowly began to comprehend their gifts.

As time progressed, their families grew, and the band begun talking amongst each other again, as friends. Each of their children possessed the same love for music, along with their born talent. They soon began to call their ability Chougen, or "Tuning". Word spread, and many interpreted the ability as a bloodline amongst the clan that called themselves the Ongaku. Shortly after, war broke out within Otogakure no Sato and surrounding villages. It was a battle of dominance, one with many losses, and the only reward being fear. Many of the Ongaku felt the need to protect their people, and the villagers therefore, involving themselves in the fight for peace.

The struggle lasted several years, and while many stood by and fought, many others sought peace elsewhere, leaving their country and origins behind. Those who continued to fight discovered ways to use their abilities to assist in battle, and slowly turned the tides of the war. As their knowledge grew, so did their strive for peace. A few years following, the war ended, and the people of Otogakure thanked the Ongaku clan for their dedication. The clan became well known once more, and their people began to spread out across the lands in search of further musical knowledge and secrets, and hope to mold a better future.

In current times, the Ongaku reside in many of the five great countries and surrounding smaller countries, expanding their knowledge in both music and the ninja way. The center piece of the Ongaku clan's learning system, and primary teaching within the clan is a technique known as Kakyoku no Chouin (Song of Sealing). With the Ongaku clan's special hearing, their brains are capable of interpreting notes into something much more; the memories of those willing to open their minds to fellow members. This is exactly how many of the Ongaku clan learn new songs and clan techniques, when deemed or believed worthy of receiving such knowledge.

Although knowledge can be passed on more efficiently and quickly, elders of the clan have made known their beliefs and ideas that this knowledge should only be shared when the receiver is capable of comprehending the full potential and consequence of the technique, or when they are deemed ready. Therefore, only certain techniques are to taught to certain ranks. This not only keeps the clan organized and balanced, but protects the clan's secrets. If younger and more helpless members of the clan were to be captured and put into interrogation, they would not have the full knowledge of all of the clan's secrets. With that said, only the highest of ranking within the Ongaku clan know the most precious of secrets and the full history and origin of the clan.

The clan elders, also known as "The Defenders", are the only ones to know everything and hold all of the clan's knowledge. To further protect the clan's secrets, they have advanced Kakyoku no Chouin (Song of Sealing) into a technique of the opposite effects, known as Kakyoku no Taikyo (Song of Recession). When those with superior knowledge within the Ongaku clan begin to approach death, commit an act of treason or crime against the clan, or simply lose the clan's trust, this technique is used to recede the individual's memories. This causes the individual to lose all memory of the knowledge, as if they had never known before, almost like the act of 'forgetting'.

Melodia is the name Aria gave to her musical weapon and instrument, known as the ocarina. This ocarina is a twelve hole sweet potato ocarina, tuned in the key of C, and can range below C down to A. This ocarina was crafted for great speed, precision, exquisite breath response, and crystal clear tone. It is made of fine ceramic, and measures only about seven inches in length, with a smooth and polished finish. The elegant design resembles sea shards, in color and texture. As the light hits it, the several colors reflect off the surface as a radiant rainbow.

Purpose:

Aria uses this ocarina to play tunes she knows, and perform clan techniques passed down and taught within her family. Combining the music created with this instrument with her bloodline, she can cause various effects upon her targets. However, she doesn't always use her ocarina for battle. She knows more than just her clan techniques and in her free time, she enjoys playing normal music to calm her spirits, and bring peace to the people and world surrounding her.

The ocarina (ok-uh-ree-nuh) is an ancient flute-like wind instrument. While several variations exist, an ocarina is typified by an oval-shaped enclosed space with four to twelve finger holes and a mouth tube projecting out from the body. It is often ceramic, but many other materials, such as clay, plastic, wood, glass and metal may also be used.

Aria obtained this ancient musical instrument while she was still very young, with the accompany of her brother. While Cale was searching for a new violin, she caught eye of an ocarina for sale. This technique allows the user to open their mind to their fellow clan members with the bloodline, and share possessed knowledge by simple song.

Name: Kakyoku no Gyaku (Song of Reversal)
Rank: D
Type: Secret Clan Technique
Element: -
Using the Ongaku clan's well known musical abilities, the user will sing or play a random tune that sounds as if it is being played backward on their instrument, reversing the effects of other Ongaku clan jutsu, and possibly deflecting the attack back. Name: Kakyoku no Kai (Song of Release)

Element: -
Using the Ongaku clan's well known musical abilities, the user will sing or play a calm and peaceful tune on their instrument that can release the effects of Genjutsu and some techniques used by clans other than the Ongaku clan, as long as they are of matching rank. This jutsu effects any target within hearing distance, as long as the user is singing or playing.

Taijutsu

Name: Dainamikku Entorii (Dynamic Entry)

Basic Ninjutsu

Name: Kinobori no Waza (Act of Tree Climbing)
Rank: -
Type: Supplementary
Element: -
Kinobori no Waza, the art of tree climbing serves a dual purpose. Taking part in Kinobori Shugyou (Tree Climbing Training) helps a ninja learn how to focus their chakra. It also teaches the ninja how to run up trees and walk on vertical walls. The training helps the ninja learn how to focus just the right amount of chakra to a particular part of their body. Rank: -
Type: Supplementary
Element: -
A variation on the Kinobori no Waza (Act of Tree Climbing), the art of water surface walking allows a ninja to walk on water as if it was a solid surface. Focusing an even amount of chakra out of the soles of their feet, they can balance themselves on the very surface of the water.

Name: Kai (Dispel)
Rank: -
Type: Supplementary
Element: -
A jutsu that destroys/cancels out an illusionary jutsu attempted on the user. Only shinobi with strong chakra control can perform this. The user releases a large amount of chakra then quickly halts it. The genjutsu is usually dispelled after that, depending on how strong the skill is.

Rank: E
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: -
Kakuremino no Jutsu is a very basic Ninjutsu technique. The ninja uses a camouflage cloth to cloak themselves in the background.

A very basic technique that allows a ninja to escape from rope binds.

Name: Kawarimi no Jutsu (Change of Body Stance Technique)
Rank: E
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: -
When in danger the ninja will quickly substitute themselves with another nearby object. This can be a block of wood or even another person. Name: Henge no Jutsu (Transformation Technique)
Rank: E
Type: Ninjutsu

Name: Kage Shuriken no Jutsu (Shadow Shuriken Technique)
Rank: D
Type: Ninjutsu
Element: -
When throwing a shuriken, the ninja will also throw a second shuriken to hide in the shadow of the first. The hidden secondary shuriken can then approach the target without their being aware.

Elemental Ninjutsu

Wind

Name: Kaze Shuriken (Wind Shuriken)
Rank: D
Type: Ninjutsu

The Diary of Aria

Background

Lani Ongaku was a member of a long line of nomads descending from the Ongaku clan, possessing powerful knowledge passed on to her by her elders, just as the secrets were passed on to them, generation by generation. Her clan fought alongside Sunagakure no Sato in many wars, and supported them in many struggles, soon calling the village home. Leon was of the infamous and noble Kazoku clan of Sunagakure no Sato, a family of wealth and politics. A very headstrong young man, he tends to speak his mind, as well as act first, and think later. He is easy to get along with, but does not like to get pushed around. However, he has a soft spot for Lani. A peace-loving girl with a strong spirit, she balanced well with Leon's short temper.

The two had met at a concert, in which Leon was playing his guitar, and Lani, a simple young woman in the audience and musician herself, fell in love with the young man and his music beautiful music. They both shared great interest in the musical arts, and often compared their work. Lani was a well known traveling artist and musician, capable of both playing the harp and painting masterpieces. She also helped draw plans for the construction of many important buildings in Sunagakure no Sato. Although Leon was a member of a wealthy clan, he made extra money with performances in his spare time, though he only performed because of his love for music. He also took on the role of a dedicated Jounin shinobi of his village, a swordsman and Taijutsu master, his abilities ranking among the top. As time progressed, and their bonds grew, the happy couple had married. A love was born, and from that love came the precious gift of life, their first child and only son, Cale. He was their pride and joy, and only a few years after followed the birth of their cherished baby girl.

Childhood

Aria Marie Ongaku was born in Sunagakure no Sato one late summer evening, the night sky only lit by the candlelight beams of the stars and moon. The two children were only three years apart in age, and Cale had no problem taking on the role of big brother. He played with his little sister any chance he had, and taught her everything he knew. The two had more than just the bond of blood, but they were best friends as well. Their bond was so strong, they never thought once that it could be broken. Aria followed Cale everywhere, there never seemed to be a moment they were separated. Aria and Cale were not just close to each other, but they shared bonds with their parents as well. They were all one big happy family, which even in time, never changed a bit. They all loved each other, and would do anything for each other, how a true family should be. Lani served breakfast each morning, in which every family member would attend, and greet each other each breaking day. Lunch wasn't too big a deal in their household, and usually only consisted of a small meal to hold over for the approaching dinner. Then as the sun began to set, Leon would cook dinner for the family, followed by family time, and rushing the children off to bed for the night. They were all very close.

At the young age of five, Cale first started taking interest in musical instruments, mainly percussion. Their father, Leon, was an amazing guitarist, and like any child infatuated with their role model, Cale wanted to be just like his father. Leon first started teaching Cale the basic finger work of a guitar, and Cale was completely excited to learn the trade. However, even after much practice, Cale soon found his interest in the guitar was diminishing as he quickly found himself bored with the instrument. It was then, that Leon proposed a different string instrument, the violin. Cale all but thrilled at first, and almost reluctant to play any music with it at all. Eventually, after a year or so, his interest began to grow, as well as his abilities with the violin. He hadn't exactly mastered the instrument, but he intended to practice and learn much more in time. Around the same time, Aria was approaching the age of three. Her speech was improving, and she seemed to adore anything that had to do with music, or anything shiny. Lani would constantly have to take her jewelery away from her daughter, only in fear that she might swallow the small object by accident. This required placing objects more safely in the home, to keep from any incidents.

A couple years later, upon Cale's eighth birthday, Leon and Lani took their son and daughter to a musical shop out of town for a few days, intending to buy Cale a new and well made violin. It was a small village on the outskirts of Otogakure no Sato, the origin of their mother's clan. On the long journey there, Lani told stories of the legends of her clan, and explained that the village they were heading to included the finest of musical instruments, made and tuned by fellow descendants of that clan. Both children were widely interested, and overly excited to enter this legendary village. However, their imaginations lead on to a more magical look, rather than the realistic ancient look of the old, beat down town. Nonetheless, both Cale and Aria were fascinated by the musical oriented town. They followed their parents into the infamous shop, as both sets of eyes glowed with pure amazement. There were so many instruments, filling shelves, and displayed on racks. Each had their own unique design, and a finish that made them shine. The children truly felt as if they were in a world of magic, another dimension separate from their dull reality.

Cale's eyes immediately met a cherry wood violin, the red of its base glowing like flames pressed upon a sunset sky. It was a beautiful sight for to the child's eyes, and Lani knew she had brought him to the right place. They bought the fine made instrument for their son, and exited the shop, all smiling, but not as glowing as Cale's. On the way out, the five year old Aria couldn't help but catch eye of a strangely shaped ceramic flute on display, and stopped dead in her tracks. She just stared at the polished instrument, only to be broken from her trance by her father's words. Aria quickly caught up to her family, but never forgot the elegant flute. When they returned home, Aria made known her sudden interest in music. No one was surprised, but the challenge was trying to explain the instrument she saw. She started with a recorder, a simple plastic instrument resembling a flute in design, but much easier to play. Aria caught on just as quickly as her brother, and just like Cale and his guitar, quickly became bored of the instrument.

It was a year after picking up the recorder that Aria had been walking through the village streets with her brother, and a few other random children, that she heard a peculiar sound. She and her brother stopped in their tracks, then immediately were drawn to the noise. The sound was that of a flute of sorts, notes of a high but clear pitch, quite lively. Aria gasped as she turned the corner and witnessed the very instrument she saw in that shop only a year ago, and curiously approached the musician. Cale stayed by her side, for safety reasons, and his own curiosity. She was a tall and lanky girl, skinny but healthy. Her hair was dark, and curled at the ends, complimented by her deep brown eyes. As the two children made their way to her, she played some more, in recognition of their attention. When she finished, Aria quickly spoke up, asking of the instrument, and where she could get one. The woman was slightly amused by their expressions and interest, but answered her questions nonetheless. She called the rare instrument an ocarina, and told them of it's origin and history. Both stood and listened carefully, observing its structure when they could. When their conversation ended with the complete stranger, the two hurried home to their parents. Leon had just walked out the door, about to come look for them, due to their tardiness. The obvious worried expression set upon his face, but slowly lightened as the two rushed to his side with glowing expressions.

They told him of the stranger and her more strange instrument she was carrying, and how it looked exactly like the one Aria saw in the shop that one day. Leon first scolded the two for talking to a stranger in the streets, killing the moment, but only for a few seconds. Shortly after his lecture, he asked for a description of the instrument. Aria gladly told him, with every detail she could come up with, and Cale's added insight. Lani walked in from the other room, happening upon their in depth conversation. A smile lit up her face, and she retrieved her canvas and pencil. Their mother listened to the description, and managed to capture it on paper. Aria rushed to her mother with a hug, and Leon began discussing making the so called ocarina. However, if Leon was going to create this masterpiece, he wanted it to be perfect; just what his daughter wanted. When he asked her what she wanted out of its appearance, Aria looked to the brushes and paint. With a few strokes, and blends of color, she had created the most unique look for her ocarina. The rest of the family commended her on her fine work, but soon became troubled with the idea of just how they would create the instrument, and with all that color. An idea struck Lani, and she made plans to go to a beach a few villages away from home. While she was gone looking for colorful supplies, Leon began working on the base and core of the instrument, with the help of Aria and Cale to shape the ideas. A week or so passed, and Lani returned with a basket of sea shells, sea shards, and a new vase to add to the lacking furniture of their home. The sea shells were pretty, but rigid; they just wouldn't do. On the other hand, the sea glass was smooth and colorful, almost perfect. They just needed to find a way to apply it to the plain ocarina, and with a little thought and patience, Leon found a way. The newly molded masterpiece sat before their eyes, and Aria squealed with joy at the sight if the beautiful instrument she could call hers. The only problem was learning to play such an uncommon instrument.

It was then that Lani decided to bring her children to the branch of her clan that resided in Sunagakure no Sato, so that they may learn the secrets and knowledge of the clan, and experience their own musical adventures as they wished. Cale was simply amazed with the clan, and Aria was overwhelmed with joy when they recognized her ocarina. Approaching the age of ten, Cale intended to take part in the village academy and become a dedicated shinobi like his father. Leon and Lani wouldn't let Aria take part in the academy just yet, they wanted her to wait until the age of ten as well. The Ongaku clan had no interest in passing on their clan techniques to these children just yet, but welcomed them into their teachings of musical lessons and history of the clan and its origin. Cale had already taught himself a lot over the years, musical wise. With the help of his father, who also played a stringed instrument, he was able to get the basics down and work from there. This didn't keep him from being curious about the clan, and sometimes the clan elders feared he was too curious. Of course they were over reacting, and put to ease by the simple fact that he was still a mere child, and as curious as he should be. Aria's interests broadened from there, quickly learning how to play the strange instrument, its history within the clan, and a few songs she came up with on her own. As the two grew, so did their musical knowledge.

Academy Arc

Three sure years later, Aria met the age her parents required for her to take part in the academy. She was definitely excited about taking on the new challenges of learning, and training to become an important part of her village. However, Cale had certainly held the expectations quite high for the his little sister. He had graduated from the academy at the age of twelve, being the top of his class, and gaining further trust of their mother's clan. Almost everyone in the village knew Cale now, by face and name. For awhile, his fame seemed to drift him off to another world, but he returned just as quickly as he had left. Things went back to the same again, for the most part. Aria and Cale still seemed to be inseparable, but Cale was a Genin with a team now. He was busy taking on the hardships of a shinobi, and completing missions for his village, and country. While Cale was out on missions during those years, Aria had picked up a pencil and brush, with her new inspiration for art. She worked alongside her mother, and played her ocarina, she now called Melodia, in her spare time. With the craziness of growing up, and fear of falling apart from her family, Aria's excitement soon turned to anxiety.

Her brother helped her through most of the panic of growing up so fast, and the new challenges placed in front of her. Cale constantly reminded her that there would always be challenges in life, and there would always be change. With that, he also told her that no matter how many challenges they faced, and how much changed, they would always be family. To prove his words, he brought her back a heart shaped locket necklace in return from a mission from an exotic country. All her worries seemed to disappear when he put the locket around her neck, and she couldn't help but thank him everyday straight for a whole month. She called it a good luck charm, and each time she clasped it in her hand, she remembered his wise words. This wasn't the only gift her brother gave her, his words inspired her. Aria had hopes and dreams now, for a future filled with adventure and the things and people she loved most.

Her first day at the academy was pretty rough, she didn't know many people in her class, since she had always hung around the elder kids with her brother. However, she got by, and tried her best to make a few friends here and there. Class in general was pretty easy, and she found the academy teachings interesting. It was something new, and it didn't have anything to do with music. She was afraid of change, but now she saw just how good change could be. It was something different to look forward to, and something new to learn. The atmosphere at the academy wasn't just filled with curiosity, but fun. She enjoyed the company of other children her age, and liked meeting new people, and making new friends each day. As time progressed, she was already accustom to the learning environment and people around her. She studied like every other boy or girl in her class, but preferred independence, often meaning seclusion in her room, rather than a study group. Aria wasn't exactly extremely outgoing, she may have met people and spoke to them a few times, but that was just about it. If she spoke to anyone else, it was the academy teachers over review. The best part was gaining further trust from the Ongaku clan, as her brother had when enrolling in the academy. With this trust, the clan elders were able to interpret whether or not Aria was reading to learn the basic knowledge and techniques of the clan. They deemed her ready, and her training under Genshin Tenzo Ongaku began.

Each day, after attending the academy, she would walk to the clan quarters and train with Master Gen. She quickly showed that she was a fast learner, and caught on to techniques quite quickly. When they'd take a break to eat, he'd tell her stories of the clan, while she would sit and listen carefully, taking in every word. Clan training went a lot quicker than the academy, and she was soon home to her loving family. Lani was kept up to date with her work in the academy and at the clan quarters, and it was obvious that Aria was keeping up quite well. However, she feared that her daughter might become bored, and lose interest if she didn't have enough to focus on at all times. She kept Aria entertained with artwork in her free time, and Leon began training her in Taijutsu. Aria already knew some basic hand to hand combat from the academy, but her father kept her in shape and helped her advance her abilities. Her mother's art may have been more for leisure, but it was a great way to relax at the end of the day. Somehow, she even still managed to work time into her busy schedule to play her treasured instrument.

Genin Arc

The routine continued, and as soon as she knew it, a couple more years had gone by, and now she was the one graduating from the academy. Just as her brother, was at the top of her class, and although she didn't know everyone's name, they knew hers. Acquiring the headband of her village, and officially giving her the rank of Genin thrilled her. Cale was a Chuunin now, but just as he said, they were still family. He supported her every step of the way, and intended to continue doing so. Aria couldn't be any happier, she was ready to take on the world...

Silence. What a peaceful thing it was. On the other hand, when present for too long, it became torturous. Any real recluse loved solitude, but she wasn't always like this. Time passed her by, and change had no mercy. In the midst of it all, she had lost herself. In all truth, she didn't even recognize herself anymore. This was indeed a problem, and the solution seemed out of reach anymore. However, she wasn't about to let it all slip away. She made it through each passing day, time and time again. Her whole world changed right before her, and for years, she just stood by, observing and taking in each moment. If she were to look back on her past, she wouldn't have made the same decisions now. That was what it took.

Mistakes. Every action has a consequence. In return, some sort of lesson to be learned. With mistakes came wisdom, and the second chance not to repeat the wrongs that took place before. Anyone of experience would know this, and she had made plenty of mistakes, all in which, she learned a great deal from. Reflecting on everything now, she wondered if she grasped everything there was to be understood. With that thought, she worried about repeating herself. This wasn't only the concern for herself, but mainly the concern of those around her. She had to be careful, cautious in every way imaginable. In her current position, she couldn't afford to harm anymore people because of her bad decisions. With the little she had left, she couldn't afford to lose anything herself, either.

Friendship. The bonds she held with those she found herself close to. Over the many years she lived in Konohagakure no Sato, she had made a variety of friends. Also with those years, she lost a great deal of those friends. The life of a shinobi and kunoichi was not easy, and there were many challenges to be faced. Then again, there were always challenges, no matter what life you found yourself living. The cold and unloving hands of Death got ahold of many shinobi and kunoichi she came to call friends, and sometimes, family. Death is inevitable. However, she had wished more peaceful rest over those who had come to pass. Some of the people she became closest to in her life were still with her, and in spirit. Ashes and dust, or flesh and bone, they still walked with her, they still guided her.

Patience. A virtue, to have waited all this time. She had waited on loved ones time and time again, and not once did she regret any of it. Those people were her life, and she would give anything to see them happy. If it took her forever to put a smile on their face, then so be it. Now the tides had changed, and she was the one lost, the one in need of patience. So much had happened, and was still in the process of happening. It was all too much to take in at once, and she needed time to think things through, place the pieces together. Life is the largest puzzle there is, and there was no time she ever thought she had figured it out completely, and she believed there never would be such a time. For now, she would observe the pieces, and take her time placing them where she see fit.

Trickling water sounded as it rushed to meet the babbling brook, the birds accompanying with their daylight tunes. Hidden sun reflected off the surface of the water, as clouds drifted by with the light wind. The breeze lifted her hair and ruffled her shirt, as the leaves of trees danced along. Warm rays pressed against her fair cheeks, and her hazel eyes squinted as they traced the many forms of life around her. All was peaceful, and she couldn't be any more comfortable with the beautiful scenery before her very eyes. Legs crossed and pencil in hand, she began her sketching. Light hums barely escaped her lips as she enjoyed the company of nature and its bounty. It was indeed the perfect day, and she intended to capture it all, even if not on paper. With each stoke of the hand, an image appeared. It may have been dull compared to the real thing, but she didn't mind one bit. This was simply a hobby of hers, and something she liked to do when she wasn't busy being a dedicated kunoichi. So far, it seemed to be working, and she felt a lot lighter, less tense and more calm than usual. She brushed her fingers along the canvas to create an added touch, almost like shading. Then, she finished, with a small signature in the bottom right corner of the page that was blank only moments ago. She just stared at the black and white scene, comparing it to the colorful world around her. With a satisfied sigh, she stashed her book away in her pack, and lied back, staring at the different shaped clouds, resembling cotton. Imagination took over as the undefined shapes began to take on faces, and soon after, features of familiar things...
