Yameni Suki vs Yukiko Amaya

Chance of death.

It was hard to know what to expect - Yukiko had never been to the arena before, let alone fought in it. When she arrived, she was disappointed by the less than grand entrance with guards checking the entrants. After giving her name, she was allowed through into the main section. Inside, the walls towered over the young kunoichi as she looked up and around at those eagerly waiting the tournament's beginning. Only now was she impressed - it was huge and somewhat imposing.

There were few features of the battle ground itself to speak of, a dry, grassy ground that was bordered by a number of thick bushes. It was probably best to have few obstacles as it forced the combatants to face each other. This, Yuki liked. Her attention turned back to the task at hand and she began running strategies and techniques through her head as she waited for her opponent's arrival.

Suki strolled along the dirt covered path of her home village. Her 'family' had wished her good luck, all of the loving Yameni healing ladies with tears in their eyes. She had almost cried herself then, but she kept her head up. Even though she hadn't managed to train for all the new jutsus she'd prepared for the chuunin exams, or collect some of the herbs for her herb pouch, she still hoped to try and win. It was no matter anyway, it took quite a bit of weight off of her anyway. Suki soon saw the large gates of the stadium tower above the little girl. In the distance, she saw another girl. She didn't seem to be from around here. Suna? Iwa? The sun was too bright for her to clearly see the markings on her armbands, and suki lightly traced the konoha symbol on the band wrapped around her waist.

By the time she had arrived, the girl had gone inside. Suki approached the guards and smiled, giving her name. They looked a little dubious as they let her in. She looked around eagerly for the other entrants, noting without surprise that they were all older than her. She walked out into the battleground. It looked pretty average, and didn't have any staggeringly different features to the terrain outside the stadium. There was a girl, the one she had seen earlier, there too. So she was her opponent. Suki ran a list of various strategies through her mind, and let her body relax slightly, loosening herself up for the battle.

"I am Suki, of the Yame clan," said Suki to the girl opposite her, bowing.

The crowd were fairly noisy, yet Yukiko had expected it to be nigh on deafening. For a moment, she was grateful for the less intrusive sound. Then, quite unexpectedly, the shouts and murmurs around the crowd got louder, which could only symbolize one thing. Yuki swivelled on the spot, turning to face the entrance she had come in through not long ago. There, walking quietly across the arena until she was near enough for Yuki to hear her. The girl introduced herself as Suki, a member of the Yame clan.

If Yukiko was honest, she thought the girl seemed too young to be in such a place, to be entering such a contest. Her appearance was generally slight, the black kimono serving to make her look even daintier than she already was. Still. Yuki thought silently to herself, I've never underestimated an opponent - and I don't intend to start now. She managed a small, half-smile and inclined her head, showing respect as the girl had done for her. "Yukiko Amaya, of Sunagakure no Sato." She lazily gestured to her armbands that held the thin fabric draped along her forearms. On the bands themselves was the metal with her village symbol engraved.

A hush had begun to descend on the once rowdy spectators looking down from above on the would-be combatants. It was clear that now each Genin had introduced herself to the other, the start of the fight was imminent. Yuki's hands ran over the rolled-up form of her Kusari-gama, tucked away in her pouch. Looking around and at her opponent to double-check they were allowed to begin, she pulled out the Kusari-gama. It had an eight-inch handle and a twelve metre chain. At the end of the chain was a cluster (three) of small, teardrop-shaped weights.

Allowing the chain hung over her arm a little slack, the kunoichi began to twirl it expertly, watching for an opening. The spinning increased in pace and Yuki lent even more chain to the weapon, its circle getting larger and larger. A couple of times Yuki lashed the weapon out toward Suki, only to pull it back a second later and resume spinning. It was a warning - don't come too close.

Suki winced slightly as the crowd noises rose. Her opponent looked friendly, and, quite frankly, more interesting than any of her other team members. The girl watched her opponent with particular interest as she whipped out a weapon she had thought of using, but had never seen in practice before. She always liked to learn about a new weapon, even if it might be the one attacking her. As she began to spin the chain, Suki felt the crowd hush in anticipation.

Suki backed away slightly, trying not to stare at the hypnotic twirling of her weapon. "That is a fine weapon, Amaya-san," Said Suki conversationally. "I always like seeing something new,"
She reached into her kimono, and whipped out a fan. It, like her kimono, was black and silver. It had flowery artwork of dragons and was one of Suki's most prized possessions. She did not snap it open yet, and held it loosely in one hand. It had a wind tag concealed inside, and she didn't want to reveal it just yet.

It wasn't her tessen, but the handle was strong, and it would hurt if she hit anyone with it. She waited a few seconds, waiting for the right time for the chain to get in the position she wanted, but the girl lashed out at her every few seconds, making it difficult. She jumped back the first time it flew towards her, but upon seeing her pull it back quickly, she realised it was a ruse to intimidate her. Suki would not be beaten by scare tactics! Suki waited for her opponent to lash out again, and when Yukiko did, she snapped open the fan theatrically, the sound traveling through the whole stadium. She then activated the tag and with an elegant sweeping motion, directed the tag's huge flurry of wind with the fan towards the girl.

If things went well, the weapon would be sent back towards Yukiko, tangling with itself and hitting her on the face. Suki giggled cutely, as was her usual for her annoying 'cute girl' tactic.

As Yukiko whipped her kusari-gama ever faster, still unleashing false strikes toward Suki, the other kunoichi revealed a large fan. As the 'snap' sound echoed around the stadium, Yuki had a short moment to observe an unusual tag concealed on the paper of the fan. It was indeed a short moment, as seconds later the tag activated as her opponent swung the fan from side to side.

The resulting gust of wind was far enough from Yuki for her to be able to weather the winds, but she knew that weapon would not be stable in these conditions. This, of course, was all superfluous if she didn't dodge the incoming attack from her own Kusari-gama. As it whipped around toward its owner, Yuki dropped to the floor, bunching her legs up into a low crouch and pressing her torso to the ground. The weighted end zipped over her shoulder, missing her by inches. The ensuing winds stung her skin, but at the range she was at, did little more damage.

The heavy end of the Kusari-gama, however, continued to move and yanked Yuki's arm around as it fell to the floor even further behind her. Unable to resist the unexpected pull, the young kunoichi's body spun and she fell - admittedly not very far at all - to the ground. She took half a second to realize what had just happened before getting to her feet and dusting herself down. Her expression was now one of annoyance, having been embarrassed by this little girl.

She wrapped her kusari-gama up and placed it back in her pouch. Clearly, ranged weapons were not going to be much use here. She formed a quick couple of hand seals and dashed in toward her opponent. As she ran, her body began to glow with a green aura, and she kicked off from the floor. In movements that were very difficult to even follow, she appeared near to Suki and prepared to strike.

The young kunoichi's hands became a pale blue colour, contrasting with the green aura aroudn the rest of her body. She kept her index and middle fingers pointed and the rest curled under her palm. With increased speed and strength, she delivered two swift targeted strikes toward the Genin's torso. What Suki didn't know was that the strikes were laced with a potent poison, Shoukou, known for its severe dehydrating effect.

Suki began to act while she was giggling, which was also intended to hide the sound of the dummy quietly inflating behind her, perfectly hidden.
She jumped towards a curve in the wall and bowed her head down and took a fake fighting stance after her fake retreat, she quickly hid underground, using a simple doton jutsu. The dummy was pretty realistic, and a lot of time had gone into making it. Not only that, but her hair covered most of her face, making it discernable when she was in a fighting stance.
Had she taken a moment longer, she'd have seen the fast girl glow and appear next to her to attack her. Listening to vibrations in the earth, she did know that the girl was soon going to be very close to her.
Perfect thought Suki with a sly grin.
It was at the moment Yukiko had just reached her that 'Suki' exploded with an utterly powerful force. With the girl that close to her, it was unlikely to miss. Senbon attached to wires flew in all directions, they extended far, and with the two at a curve, the senbon were very likely to go through her and lodge deeply into the wall.
She hoped that she wouldn't have to use the jutsu so early in a battle, during the first rounds of the tournament, but she had other tricks up her sleeves if any spectators were future opponents.
She would have to wear her other kimono and hope she had a spare dummy

As Yukiko moved in for the strikes, the girl in front of her bulged slightly. Yuki's eyes widened and her hands diverted their course to meet each other in a seal, her increased speed saving her. The dummy exploded and released a hail of senbon and wires in all directions, the majority of them plunging straight through Yuki's body and bursting out of her back. The young kunoichi's eyes grew still wider for a moment, before she disappeared in a plume of smoke.

When the smoke cleared, it revealed exactly what that hurried hand seal had been. A branch, presumably from one of the surrounding bushes, lay on the floor, senbon buried in its wooden body. With no way of being regularly detected, Yuki sat completely still in her hiding place amongst the bushes, not moving a muscle. Her eyes flitted about the arena, trying the locate her opponent.

Suki, quieter than a mouse, waited underground for a few minutes, waiting for an indication that yukiko had been hit. She had heard no crowd noises, which meant that something must have gone wrong.
She popped her head out, hidden underneath the kimono that was half upright, being supported by the senbon that had lodged into the curve.
She peeked out from underneath, and saw no signs of Yukiko. Except a branch.
She silently cursed herself for forgetting about the substitution jutsu. How could she forget about something so simple?
Bringing her head back underneath, she formed handseals underground.
In a poof of smoke, a cute black panther cub appeared in her arms. The cub seemed to ripple, and his fur had something that looked like a green flame envelop the cub. If anyone else could fit inside the cavity of earth Suki was hiding in, Oshi would have seemed a little fuzzy. Suki saw Oshi wink with his luminescent eyes and he drifted up to the ground like a cloud of gas. Being uski's personal summon, Oshi had been in this situation many times. He would know what to do. He stepped out from the hiding place in kimono, with swirls of greenish purple mist surrounding him. He was enveloped in the 'mist' like in was an aura, which almost resembled fire.
Since Suki had used her senbon explosion, and she had used up quite a bit of chakra, and would soon not be able to use much more jutsus.
She traveled a little further so she was about in the centre of the field.
Hopefully Oshi would locate her with his cat senses, and if he couldn't, it didn't matter. Both would be fine. She had quite a few tricks up her sleeves....

Still sitting silently, Yuki began to wonder how long it would be before her opponent appeared. She had considered that Suki was hiding in the bushes and keeping still - same as her. If that was true, the match would be at a stalemate for some time. The only other possibility then, was that she was underground. Fortunately for the bush-bound Genin, an oddly coloured and seemingly oddly textured creature appeared near the centre of the stadium. Well, at least I know she's somewhere under here. Yuki thought silently, her eyes flitting to the ground below and then back to the creature.

It looked like...like...Yukiko tried to concentrate on the creature, but the fluidly moving substance around it made it very difficult to focus on. Blinking hard, Yuki tried to erase the afterimages of the cat-like creature but to no avail. It struck her then, that there was an answer to this. The substance surrounding the summon - for it had to be that - was the problem. And Yuki had the perfect answer. Very carefully moving her hands, making sure to keep silent, the Genin formed two hand seals and closed blinked once more.

This time, when her eyes opened, the irises were crystal clear, almost white. The false images of the cat summon had disappeared, and Yuki was now able to focus clearly on the real thing. With a light touch, she drew four kunai from her pouch. Her body still poised, she released the kunai - one directly at the cat, one to its left and one to its right, one above it.

After covering it from all angles, she darted away from her hiding place, making certain to stay in the bushes however. As she moved, she formed another hand seal. In a barely audible whisper, "Bunshin no Jutsu." The two clones appeared beside Yuki, who herself continued running. One clone stayed where she had completed the jutsu, one running in the opposite direction. Covering her tracks was something the young kunoichi took some pride in.

Oshi, floating almost aimlessly, was surprised as the kunai flew at him from all angles. How did she aim properly at him? Trying to act as nonchalant as he could in his spectral form, he made his body slowly grow smaller. The kunai all hit around him, like a barrier of useless metal...stuff.
He jumped over the kunai, and returned to his ordinary proportions. THe girl was nowhere to be seen, and even with his enhanced cat-senses, all he heard was a rustle and a sound resembling an exhaled breath or whisper. Was this girl just going to hide? If he had any eyebrows, they would have been raised. He made a mental not of where the kunai came from, and drifted to the spot. Masking his movement by beding down and trying to sniff the girl, he made a scratch in the ground. Since his spectral effect didn't seem to work, he changed his colour to a non-fluctuating green as camoflauge. He then silently picked his way through the bush, looking for the girl, he also readied himself to escape an attack, as Suki was likely to launch a long range attack in his general direction. As soon as he saw the girl, he switched into his normal form, his black form hidden in the shadows. Then, he attacked. As soon as he was enshrouded in smoke, he realised it was just a clone. How had he had fallen for such a simple ruse?! He ran back, deciding to change tactic before Suki attacked.

Suki, however, was slightly less ambient. As soon as she reached the middle, she began readying chakra. When she was complete, she heard a thudding impact above her. An attack? She hoped Oshi was okay. He could be a little careless when in spectral form, except when he was in camoflauge. She smiled, thinking of her beloved summon. It seemed that activating his genjutsu-like ability made him feel invincible! She quickly completed, and jumped out of the ground.
"DIE!!!!!!" she screamed, looking a little intimidating without her kimono. As soon as she saw the line, she aimed her jutsu there. The girl, who was just about to attack, suddenly stopped as Oshi jumped out of the bush, screaming "No!!"
Replying in the same cat-tongue, she asked him what was wrong.
As he recounted what had happened, Suki swore repeatedly. Using the chakra Suki had built up, she used her beat transformation technique. She grew more pointed ears, and whiskers grew from her face. Her hands looked more like paws as they grew velvet fur on them, and her nails became large contracted claws. Her small figure, and cat-like speed would now probably equalize her speed with Yukiko. Now she had the edge. The girl would never have seen this jutsu, and would have no idea her speed now matched her opponent. Oshi used his own jutsu, Ooki Neko. He hissed, and raised his hackles. He would be a lot more of a danger now. He doubled in size, and looked like an aggressive fully-grown panther. Now the formidable looking duo split up. Oshi, moving faster than before sped into the bush. His bigger nose had allowed him to whiff her out, and he knew her general direction. As soon as he came close enough to properly pin-point her, he would strike.
Suki remained in the same spot, not wanting to give away her increased agility.

A number of things occurred as a result of Yuki's attempts to hide herself. Her two clones were attacked and consequently defeated. Yuki had been required to find another place to hide, and had now settled to watch the ensuing events. The cat-summon had grown considerably, the young kunoichi able to tell - at last - that it was a panther cub. Lastly, it seemed her opponent had busied herself with something, but from her current distance, Yuki couldn't tell exactly what. The panther and the kunoichi now paced around a small section of the arena, persumably waiting for the hidden girl to make her move.

Still carrying the aura of the Genesis technique, Yuki crouched poised and ready to attack. It was while in this position that the young girl's eyes flitted across, tracking a fast movement she had caught out of the corner of her eye. A second glance, this time to the main arena, told her what she needed to know. The panther was no longer with his mistress, and had come to join Yuki in the bushes. Keeping half an eye on Suki, the hidden kunoichi reached into one of her item pouches.

What the Genin drew out were mere kunai, but upon closer inspection they had exploding tags attached to them. Five in total, and the girl was positive that would be plenty. Waiting until the big cat's movement was shaking the bushes nearest to herself, Yuki dug one tagged kunai into the ground where she sat. Not wanting to be caught in the blast, she leaped from her hiding position, scattering the remaining four kunai into the foliage below - where the panther was still prowling.

As she twisted her body in midair so as to face her target, Yuki felt the heat and force of the huge explosion behind her, the shockwave reaching her and almsot propelling her a little more toward Suki. Not that she needed more speed - her Genesis enhancement was still active and she landed deftly near her opponent. The ground crunching a little as she pushed off, Yuki took a precise step and span in toward the small girl with a low kick. The force would be greater than a regular kick of course, provided it connected.

Fox is the winner. Fox showed greater skill then chibi. Beyond that, she's more detailed. If the match continued my answer would of changed possibly due to Chibi starting to get the upperhand in the fight.

But at this present time, the winner is Fox.
