PostSubject: "A Cornered Fox Is More Dangerous Than a Jackal"   "A Cornered Fox Is More Dangerous Than a Jackal" EmptyWed Mar 03, 2010 6:29 am

Okay....first of all, this is a fan-fiction I randomly decided to make. I'm posting it here because I needed a place to post it up to show particular friends since the site I want to post them at wont let me for the next two days. It is not my intention for any members of Ultimate Shinobi to view it, which is why I am posting it on the deserted site, however anyone who stumbles upon it is welcome to read. If you do however, I must warn you. This fan-fiction is based on the Metal Gear Solid series, set in Metal Gear Solid 4s time frame. If you have not played the games previously, you will be extremely confused and miss out on many references. If you have though, I hope you enjoy.

As another note, any of those who know my writing style will notice the difference in how I did this one...Instead of writing like I normally do, I wrote this in the "fan-fiction" style that most FF writers use, as I plan on posting this on www.fanfiction.net. Personally, I dont like this style, but it works, so whatever. If it sucks...yea, thats pretty much why.

Disclaimer: I do not own Metal Gear or Metal Gear Solid, nor any of its original characters. However, the "made up" characters within this fan-fiction I do claim as mine, as well as the plotline...So dont steal either.

Prologue

"Well, isnt this a site for sore eyes..." A man known as Liquid Ocelot said, sounding neither displeased or overly happy about the site in front of him. "I thought I had seen the last of this one back on Shadow Moses. It may not have actually been me, but even this body itself seems to remember what this cursed robot did to it." He continued, his tone holding the

same continued sense of neutrality of the site before him, though still tainted with a small bit of interest. At the sound of his words, a woman a few feet to his side with her face shrouded by a hood turned her head to look away in disgust at the site she shared with Liquid Ocelot. Like it or not, she had been a key player in creating the task force before them. Forced would have been a good way to put it. Yet, even as she looked away, lost anger buried for 9 years suddenly flaring into her eyes, she couldnt help but glance back at the men, no, machines all lined up in rows within the small room.

"Cyborg Ninjas...you'd think the very idea would have been scrapped along with the death of the first one, especially with the use of the new Arms Tech Irving machines in use, but I suppose even I can be surprised." Liquid said through Ocelots voice. Indeed, standing before them was a large task force of cyborg ninjas, all equipped with the same exo-skeleton, stealth camo, high frequency blades, and visor system the original Gray Fox model had just before death. However, these ninjas were in turn modified, enhanced, perfected after the example that Gray Fox presented. Their exo-skeleton was now plated with armor heavy enough to survive direct explosions, yet still allowing free movement as if the person underneath wasnt wearing anything at all. The stealth camo had been enhanced as well, containing two functions, one being the original stealth function of the earlier prototype which provides near invisibility anywhere, and the new "Octo-Camo" function used by Laughing Octopus. Each High Frequency Blade was issued with a function which allowed electric charges, siphoned from the suit itself, to be pushed through the blade in order to charge attacks with electric energy, or disable nearby electric machines and objects with an outburst of energy, creating an effect much like the Chaff Grenade. Finally, each closeable visor is directly connected to SOP, allowing each ninja to view any information on any soldier linked to SOP contained, from mood, to location, to even seeing through their eyes directly. In addition, the visors have binocular as well as night vision functions. As a cautionary step taken to gain an upper hand on people with gun launderers under employ, each visor has the ability to see whether or not a weapon has an ID lock on it, who it belongs to if it does, and place ID locks on a weapon on site if it doesnt. These cyborg ninja, created from test data used with Gray Fox, were created as the task force to be deployed when the FROG soldiers themselves failed in their missions. They were created as the ultimate infantry killer.

"I have to ask though," Liquid continued, "Just how did you do it? Dr. Clark destroyed all of his test data before he was killed by the first ninja...and are you sure they will even work?"

"Dr. Clark..." The woman began, sighing the word more than speaking it, "He, or should I say she, did not completely destroy her data. Through a few links, one of them being the DARPA chief before you killed him, I was able to find a secret stash of her data. Evidentally, she valued her data too much to completely destroy it, so kept a confidential file to herself. What you see in front of you now is a result of my own tampering with the data. Of course, this isnt my field of expertise so...I had some help." She looked at him directly now, but turning her head instead of her whole body. "And yes." She continued, matter of factly, "They will work. Unlike the original model, they do not suffer from outbursts which require medication to sustain. They do however have the mindset OF the original...used with intentions of keeping them inspired. Each man you see before you is driven by the lust for battle. They're more than half machine though, so they can be programed to attack a certain target. Whichever target they are programmed with at the time will be their all consuming thought, an overwhelming desire to engage in combat with that target. This gives them the drive to complete their objectives no matter the condition...Does that answer your question?"

Liquid snorted, his body jerking slightly at the movement. "Yes I suppose it does. With all the money I've put into this project of yours, what you say had better be true. My Haven Troopers havnt been all too successful in their missions as of late, failing to even simple Rat Patrol teams. Hopefully these will be able to take their place as their excessive failures rise." As the words died from his lips, he began to brush his moustache with his hand thoughtfully, looking at one of the ninja in particular. "What about that one?" He said, pointing out to it. He was pointing at a ninja at the front of the group, colored differently from the rest. Rather than the gray and brownish colors, that ninja in particular was colored blue and red.

The woman coughed before answering him, as if being thrown off balance. "Well, that one is the commander of these men."

"They have a commander?" Liquid asked suspiciously "But I thought they could be programmed. Why would this one be necessary?"

"The commander is connected directly to each and every ninja, however they are not in turn directed to him. He can see where they are, but they cannot see him. He is actually more human than the rest, only containing enough machinery in him to be programed with a master order. Basically...as well as being physically superior to all of them, he is in control, and thus he can tell when another ninja malfunctions, and regulate them back." The woman said, her patience appearing to run thin.

"I see, do they contain nanomachines?" Liquid asked, still looking directly at the "commander" ninja.

"Yes, actually." The woman replied, a matter of factly tone taking her voice again. "Except the commander. He does not have nanomachines, yet can still link to SOP through his visor. The others do."

"Very interesting...I must admit, I'm quite impressed. I originally thought this idea would be a failure, but I can see that, after looking at them and reviewing their test data, they do appear to be quite capable. I will have them all deployed immediatly, I have high expectations on their results." Liquid said, beginning to turn his back and exit the room. But he suddenly stopped as a thought struck him, looking back at the woman one last time. "By the way...what are these ninjas going to be called?"

To this, the woman appeared to stiffen, but was able to recover quickly just before answering him. "Well, they havnt been assigned an official name yet. However, the one we sent out into actual combat as a test has already struck the nerves of both malitia and PMC troopers. They are calling them, "Cornered Foxes" due to their deadly effect while at the same time maintaining a constant air of tenseness, as if they were cornered."

To this, Liquid threw back his head and laughed a good laugh. "Oh really? I was thinking "Jackal" was a good name for them, but you cant disagree with the infantry!" he said, laughing still as the woman simply walked out of the room while Liquid just laughed and laughed.

What you have read is a prologue, but there is much action to come! What kind of impact will these new generation cyborg ninja titled "Cornered Foxes" or "FOX" for short have on the rest of the war torn world? Who will be their first "programed" target? Is it really that hard to figure out? We shall see...

I am aware of that Adam. However, like I mentioned in my last post, I am posting this here for the very fact that this site is now abandoned. You cannot say it is closed if people can still post, so it is abandoned. I post this here because it has a low chance of any random person to view it, while at the same time allowing me to link it to anyone I would like to see it.

Please do not make another comment unless its some form of review on what I put, thanks.

Chapter 1

Attention all FOX troopers!
Your first mission is upon you. Soon, you will be deployed into contested territory serving as a battlefield between rebel and PMC troopers in South America, each engaging in battle against each other. We have obtained information that a third party is active in the area which is working with the rebellion against the PMC troopers. As far as we know, this third party consists of one man who has thus far been unidentified, working with the rebellion troopers in order to push past the PMC waves in order to persue his objectives. So far he has avoided attention from all PMC troopers he has engaged in combat with, attacking from unknown positions, and thus his current location is unknown. We do however have information from a reliable source revealing what is mostly likely the objective of this third party. A woman known as Naomi Hunter is being held captive in a small house just past the Vista Mansion, and it is believed this party aims to rescue her. A battalion of FROG troopers led by Laughing Octopus has been deployed to the house in order to apprehend this man should he arrive. If he does arrive to rescue Naomi, a nearby squad of PMC soldiers will be ordered to remove Naomi from the house and escort her to an evacuation chopper while the FROG battalion attempts to defeat the third party soldier. Your primary objective is to keep Naomi out of the third party's hands. Your secondary objective is to defend the Vista Mansion from the oncoming Rebellion troopers while keeping your presence undetected. Should the PMC soldiers begin to escort Naomi, your primary objective will change to eradicating any Rebellion Soldiers who attempt to repossess Naomi while leaving apprehension of the third party soldier to scouting PMC and FROG soldiers.

The mission briefing, broadcasted to every single FOX soldier currently awaiting orders within South America, came to an end. The voice was computerized, but still male. The commander of the FOX soldiers stood on top of the Vista Mansion, arms folded with his visor closed, already in position to begin defending it, as if he knew what the objectives were to be before they were even released. At the moment, all was quiet. The gate between the Mansion and the area just outside of it was still intact, though he could see over it. There was no sight of either Rebellion or PMC soldiers, the PMCs probably inside or around the mansion, while the Rebels were still making their advance. He looked at the area surrounding the mansion, looking for the other FOX soldiers. Though they all had their stealth camo active, he could see them plain as day. Within the site of his active Visor, they glowed a distinguished blue, while his enemies a distinguished red, and finally the PMC soldiers a glowing gray. It allowed him to see which type of infantry was where. While he was still fighting alongside the PMCs, he did not care whether or not they died, by his hand or the enemy's, thus the gray color. They were expendable, while his fellow FOX soldiers were not.

His soldiers were scattered throughout the area, some within the mansion grounds, and some in the field like area outside its premesis. A few of them were even on top of the House holding Naomi, while others still were further ahead, scouting to see how close the Rebel soldiers were. One or two had even gotten greedy, and were trying to locate the Third Party Soldier. He could tell though, just through his connection to them, they were aware of the fact that they could not engage in any form of interaction with him, and were just trying to figure out who he was and keep an eye on him. The Commander activated his own stealth camo, and placed two fingers on the side of his head, just below where his ear was under the metallic visor. He did this to turn on the codec system each FOX visor was programmed with, and tuned into the frequency which could be used to speak to each FOX soldier at the same time. He had decided to throw in his own two cents on the Mission Briefing Message.

"FOX soldiers, this mission is your very first, and therefor your execution of objectives is crucial to any future missions. Think of this as your final test, out in the field itself. Above all else, you are not to be discovered by anyone, PMC, Rebellion, or Third Party. This is a test of your killing effeciency while as well as stealth capability. If any of you are discovered, our existance will be terminated. Use your Stealth Camo to the best of its ability to remain undetected, as well as any skills you possess. Make your kills silent, and be sure to dispose of bodies as quickly as possible. If the third party soldier is found, stay away from him, but at the same time keep an eye on his activities and relay any new information to the rest of us. The moment he makes it to Naomi, should this even happen, move to your designated positions along the evacuation path and wait for further orders. Men, this is our most important mission because success means future operations. Currently we are considered under the ability of the FROG soldiers, which is why they have the more important duty of apprehending the third party soldier. Perform well, and you will be rewarded."

He removed his two fingers from his visor, disconnecting himself from the rest of his soldiers, his message having ended. More out of instinct than actual thought, he swiftly looked through the eyes of all his soldiers who were further ahead to see how close the Rebels were. He wouldnt admit it no matter how obvious it really was, but he was none to happy about being sent out here as an infantry killer. That was their objective, to kill the Rebels. Sure, this was also a test to see how well they worked in the field, but he still felt underestimated. He knew his fellow soldiers felt the same way, but that would only fuel their resolve to operate above and beyond expectations, so even though he wasnt happy about it, he was looking forward to showing those FROGS how it was done. They werent to touch the Third Party Soldier, that wasnt a problem. He wanted to evaluate him anyway, see how he performed against the FROGs and Laughing Octopus, because he knew it would not be the last time they met. This may have be a test, but each and every one of them was aiming for an A++.

He looked over his shoulder to actually see the house which held Naomi. There was a large concrete wall surrounding the perimeter of the mansion, the house being behind it surrounded by its own concrete wall, sharing its front wall with the mansions back wall. Therefor, the only way into the house was through an underground passage connecting the mansion and the house, the entrance to this passage being within the mansion. Naomi...he could tell just thinking about her that she had some strange intentions and motivations. It was unlikely anyone would be able to really know what she wanted, if she even truly knew either. Hostage or not...he got the feeling she would not be returning to the hands of this "Third Party" with the intention of staying forever. In short, he was suspicious of the woman, but knew there was nothing he could really do about it anyway. His orders were only to guard her, though somehow he knew that she would be "rescued" anyway, and that his boss wouldnt be angry. Maybe he'd be filled in on all that was going on after they had proven themselves, or maybe not. Either way, he wasnt in a position to question or even object. He had his orders, and thats all there was to it. "One day Naomi...I'll figure you out."

Then he took his mind completely off of her, and looked forward once again. Rebels had been spotted making an advance towards the mansion. They started a ways off, having to advance as far as they were now. By intercepting transmissions given off by PMC troopers, he learned that the rebels had been performing surprisingly well, or at least better than usual. Despite an overwhelming number of trained and tactical PMC troopers raining down on them, they were still able to overcome, as if there was a single super trooper among them, unseen but killing many. He knew without a doubt that that "super trooper" was the Third Party Soldier, hidden umong the ranks of the Rebels. He figured this unknown soldier would probably be extremely skilled to be sent into the middle of a battlefield all by himself, so he wasnt surprised at how well he was performing. As he also expected, the soldier was nowhere to be seen, anyone who even had an inkling of where he could be already dead from a well placed bullet to the head. He could tell that this soldier was smart enough to take out any PMC who laid eyes on him before he had a chance to contact the rest of his team, for there were no alert stages given to the rest of the PMCs.

"They will be here soon..." The Commander said out loud to himself, speaking of the rebels. Behind his visor, his voice was robotic, but with traces of a human within it. "Get ready men, its time to show them what were made of!" He said again, only this time speaking through the codec again, relaying this message to every single FOX soldier. As he finished the command, he saw each FOX soldier begin to move towards the battlefield where the rebels were. He couldnt help but smile underneath his visor. The rebels may have had a hidden infantry killer, but so did the PMCs. That way, the battle was still pretty much even. It was unlikely they would make a huge difference on the outcome, as there were hundreds of Rebels, all on their way with at least 20 in the battlefield at once. Either way, he would wait until the battle was taken to the the front door of the mansion before he took his own action, and would instead survey the battle, overlook the rest of his soldiers as they performed. He tuned into one FOX soldier in specific that was closest to the battle, making a hidden advance towards the Rebels. "Divide and conquer...Divide and conquer" He said aloud to himself again, proud of the execution of his men, each one acting almost independantly to destroy the rebel advance from different points. He tuned further into that one soldier, now looking directly through his eyes. Feeling his feelings, hearing his thoughts, and so on.

5th FOX soldier to be developed, one of the most promising ones created and given the code name "White Fox" for his increased stealth abilities. More adept at remaining hidden than most of the other soldiers, this one in particular knows how to remain silent and out of site even without stealth camo active, and is extremely effective at dispatching enemies and making the kill look however he wants. It is thought that, before going into the program which turned him into a FOX soldier, he was an experienced soldier and a Splinter Cell operative. Like most FOX soldiers, the traits of his human life carried over to FOX life, increasing his stealth capabilities.

White Fox swiftly made his way through the grass and brush of the South American area, yet stayed close to the wall and remaining out of site despite his stealth camo being on. The commander's words still rang true in his mind, reminding him to remain completely out of site. Second nature to him really, he would have no problem at all making sure nobody and nothing saw him. He reached a point where he could easily see the advance of the rebels while at the same time seeing most if not all of the PMC soldiers. There was a large number of glowing red men in front of him, some hiding behind boulders or crouching on the ground, using the tallish grash as cover. Currently, they were forming up, going into positions before letting out a barrage of bullets to attack the PMC troops. The PMCs themselves were waiting patiently for that attack, more than ready to counterattack. Underneath his visor, White Fox couldnt help but grin sadistically. It looked like it was going to remain this way for awhile, so he figured he'd get it started a little. He quickly scanned the area the rebels were hiding in, and found one rebel in particular who was peaking his out around the giant rock he was hiding behind. He was stealthy, yes, but someone from the other side of the field could easily snipe his head right off. It would be his perfect chance.

Jumping from out of his spot on a rock-face wall, he landed just in front of the foolish rebel soundlessly, and looked him straight in the eye. The rebel was looking straight through him, no idea that he was standing right in front of his face. He loved the feeling, staring his victim right in the eye yet he could'nt be seen. It was all too easy, and he could'nt get over it. So, he drew his sword which was stealthed as well, and took a swift jab right at the rebel's forehead, looking exactly like a bullet wound. The rebel fell backwards with a cry, falling right on his back to make the 'headshot' look even more realistic. Without missing a beat, a rebel from further back in the group shouted "Open fire!", no doubt the commander of the rebels. Immediatly, the rebels left their complete cover and did just as their commander told them to, they opened fire. They were smart enough not to be completely exposed, but still they were exposed enough so that another jab to the head from White Fox would simply look like another headshot from an unseen sniper. His grin widened, it was time to go to town.

Seichi, I do not appreciate your rude attitude, perhaps you misunderstand who actually runs Ultimate Shinobi. This site wasn't abandoned, Ultimate Shinobi was hacked, so we started over. This site is closed, but not shut down and deleted for historical purposes and we are letting people copy or use any of their posts/applications that they have posted here to use on 2.0.

Thus, this site is closed, not abandoned.

And I do not appreciate your bossy attitude.

I understand fully who runs Ultimate Shinobi, or rather 2.0 considering theres nothing really going on in this site in particular, however whether or not this site is "closed" or "abandoned", it is cruel and actually unfair to chastise one for using this site for a simple fan fiction. If it were me, I would actually feel quite honored, though thats probably why it is not me. I'm not damaging anything, but rather perhaps providing a little entertainment for anyone who stumbles upon this.

I respect your standing of authority, but nonetheless all I ask is a little space to do my own thing without too many random people to see it, a personal peace so to speak. Please, do not interfere over something trivial...

I'm the boss, so my bossy attitude is perfectly fine :3 I have no problem whatsoever with you posting your things here, but I'd ask you to join U.S 2.0 also, as that is the new U.S, though like I just stated, I do not mind this getting posted in the General Discussion area here.
